Farewell to US ambassador at PM’s Office
Kathmandu, Feb 1: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai held a meeting with US ambassador to Nepal Scott H. DeLisi during a farewell courtesy call at his office in Singha Durbar Today.
During the meeting, the US ambassador expressed his concern over the obstructed peace and constitution writing processes in Nepal. He hoped that PM Bhattarai will win the confidence of all political parties and stakeholders of the peace process and ensure peace and constitution.
In response, PM Bhattarai assured that under his leadership the peace and constitution writing processes will soon gain pace.
US President Barack Obama recently recalled ambassador DeLisi and appointed him as the US ambassador to East African nation of Uganda. However, the White House is yet to name the new ambassador for Nepal.
Today, Ambassador of Thailand Maris Sangiampongsa is also paying a visit to Prime Minister Bhattarai.
