Nepali poems to feature in London Olympics 2012
Kathmandu, June 14: Nepali poems will constitute a multitude of poems from different countries that would find a place in the Poetry Parnassus, the would-be biggest poetry festival ever staged in the U.K., to be held on the sidelines of the London Olympics 2012.
Litterateur Yuyutsu R.D. Sharma is representing Nepal with some of his select poems in this poetry festival. He is said to have been nominated from Nepal and India with the recommendation of some 5,000 individuals and institutions.
An invitation letter to Sharma states that Poetry Parnassus is set to be the biggest poetry festival ever staged in the UK and it will be part of Southbank Centre’s Festival of the World, the Cultural Olympiad and the London 2012 Festival.
Poet Sharma will also participate in a poetry symposium to be organized by the Poetry Society of London. Symposium will bring together poets from the conflict-hit countries. The World Record, an anthology of poems, is also to be launched on the same occasion.
