Home remedies for stomach ailments in Monsoon
An upset stomach can be due to many reasons- indigestion, acidity, gas troubleetc. During the monsoon, these troubles are bound to be more common thanks to unhygienic conditions and low immunity. If you find yourself plagued by tummy trouble this monsoon,we recommends these home remedies for the most common stomach ailments.
Acidity: If you are suffering from acidity, cut down on your daily caffeine intake i.e, limit the cups of tea and coffee your drink and avoid colas. Also avoid smoking and drinking. Instead eat light, healthy meals and stay away from fried, greasy food. Also make sure you eat two to two and a half hours before sleeping. And if acidity still persists, try chewing on some mint leaves.
Diarrhoea: The first thing to do if you have diarrhoea is replace fluids your body has lost. Drink a lot of lime water with salt, coconut water and curd with salt. Avoid drinking milk and eat a banana to control the motions.
Gas trouble: Heartburn or gas trouble is usually caused by indigestion. For a lot of us, it could be because of lactose intolerance. So, you need to determine that. If milk is the cause of your tummy trouble, then avoid it. Consume small amounts in tea and coffee and have yogurt. Some people are intolerant to some lentils and legumes too. In that case, limit your intake of those lentils and legumes.
Constipation: In case of constipation, drink lots of fluids to aid digestion. Include lots of fibrous foods in your diet like fruits and whole grains. This will get your digestive system working properly too.
Bloating: Those suffering from bloating should have a big breakfast, a light dinner and small frequent meals through the day. They should avoid lying down immediately after a meal and cut down their salt intake.
- Make sure you have a balanced diet with a healthy combination of carbohydrates, fat, protein and fiber.
- Switch to refined oil.
- Eat the right amount of food at regular intervals.
