President Yadav consults with political parties for political deadlock
Kathmandu, August 5: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has started consultations with the 27 political parties represented in the dissolved Constituent Assembly (CA) regarding the latest political situation in the country.
Top leaders of the UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress, CPN (UML) and United Democratic Madhesi Front, an alliance of the Madhes-centric parties, among others, are present in the discussions at the Rastrapati Bhawan, Shital Niwas.
The President on Saturday had dispatched letters to all the parties, summoning them for consultations.It may be noted that the President had urged the political parties many times for finding a way out to the existing political deadlock in the country.
The consultations are intended at giving a way out to the country from the political stalemate.Prime Minister and Vice Chairman of the UCPN (Maoist) Dr Baburam Bhattarai is also present in the meeting.
Talking to media persons emerging from the meeting venue, Chairman of the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum Nepal ( Democratic) and Deputy Prime Minister Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar said that fixation of a new date for fresh CA elections with consensus among all the parties is also the agenda of the consultations.
